Oppresion
If free from the dangers of oppression, Oakland schools would have no tagging on bathroom walls and the communities walls that is damaging the properties of buildings. Just tag for fun on walls that is yours and if the property owner lets you like UPA’s wall its tagged for fun. Without gangs the community will be a lot safer because people will be more comfortable to walk around in the streets. Also without gangs you’ll have a better education and less people will drop out of school and go to college and learn about jobs and which will you choose. Students parents will allow their sons/daughter to walk to school by themselves.

College for all reflection
The colleges all the 8th graders been to in Urban Promise Academy were Santa Barbara, Cal Poly and UC Santa Cruz. The college I like the most is UCSC which is UC Santa Cruz because its big, its in the middle of the forest, it has sports teams and get to see some wild life. When on the panel with the college students we all saw two deers eating grass and saw a chimpmunk and also saw a Hawk flying over us. Santa Barbara has a transportation only bike but some cars.
Cal Poly and Santa Barbara are rivals in soccer and talk smack to each other but at Cal Poly has a huge stadium where it held games. In the hills has a P made out of concreet when they win a game it gets light up by the students. In Santa Barbara has a great view of the Pacific ocean. In Santa Cruz we went to the boardwalk to play some Arcade and was gonna ride some rides but were closed. On the bus ride was boring all the way to UCSB. I didn't want to come back from college for all because it was getting fun.

COLLEGE FOR ALL
The world I come from is violent but its not just one person that makes it that way it could be anyone who makes it violent but its our American flag that is In our hearts and soul. One word that describes my school, family and community is never giving up because even when times re hard we all stood still and strong no matter what stand in front of them.
The opportunities that are available at my school are after school programs like other sports like outside enjoying the fresh air and playing football and doing homework after school so I can get some extra help from my teachers and to get my grades up when I really have to but I stay after school everyday just to do homework. When I go home I just don’t have to worry about the homework anymore I got that out of the way so now so now to my next thing playing video games, I’m joking but I really do play.
What I did to help the issue is money it was a struggle for my family but I didn’t really help because my mom had it under control she never gave up and didn’t stress and just stay cool to pay all the bills like phone bills, cable, internet, and water the electric bill was okay so didn’t have to pay until another six months my grandma and grandpa help pay to so yeah my family is great.
It got better because by helping my family they will support me and I’ll support them no matter what happens. My dreams and inspirations is just what my family to be happy I couldn’t think of anything better than that, that’s what I always say family first. I did this essay to go on the field trip and let myself say what I really have to say and let my mine out.
What college means to me is that to live your own life without your parents. To choose your own path, By going to college and connecting with your family that your probably the only one that is going to college and most of my cousins dropped out if school so if I’m going to college then I’ll rub the diploma in front of their faces and I really want to go to the field trip and learn about the colleges.
Liberation
In order to liberate ourselves from Urban Promise Academy and make it
better is to have more sports equipment not just soccer but, have sports
like football,basket ball,and play against other schools. Also in the
library there aren’t much resources in the the library to look for
researches. Another way to liberate ourselves is to have better school
lunches except the salad bar. Also more security not just officer
Mendoza watching the whole school we need more security to watch
different sections of this school.
